Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
